Someone asked me the other day if the Yoke was a multi effects unit. I was very quick to say no. And then proceeded to explain what the Yoke-5 does. For those of you who don't know, it controls the flow of a single signal path with the ability to program presets of where that signal path goes.
But as I thought about it the question, after the conversation had passed, I decided that it is a multi effects unit. What the person meant to ask was "is it a multi effects pedal".
If you take all of your pedals and put them into one enclosure, it would be a multi effects pedal. But when you put them together onto a pedalboard, it becomes a unit with interchangeable parts.
I may be reaching for something that isn't, but it is what was on my mind.
